Carzone comes to Android

Ireland's most popular car site (finally) comes to the most popular phones!

It may have taken a while but the 2012 Social Media Awards "Best Mobile App" has finally made it to Android devices and I have spent the past few days cursing it for showing me the cars I cannot afford.

That of course is not the app's fault, more my bank balance's, as the Carzone.ie used car app has all the search functions that can be found on the website (and Apple devices) meaning you can search by Make, Model, Price Range, Year, Location, Body Type, Colour, Fuel Type, Engine Size, Mileage, Doors, Transmission or Seller Type all from the palm of your hand.

Once you find your perfect car the seller can be contacted (either by phone or email) directly from within the app and there is also the option of sharing your discovery with friends via the handy social media integration.

Rather than just being a port of the existing iPhone app this is a ground-up Android version and it shows; despite only being version 1.0.0 the app is well put together with no apparent bugs or lag, in fact scrolling through images of my chosen Porsche 911 (told you I was dreaming) everything moves seamlessly across the 4.8-inch screen.  There are a couple of features missing like the ability to view a dealer's website from within the app and see a map of the exact, but these, I am sure, will come with future updates.
