Facelifted Hyundai i20 goes on sale

A refreshed look and more equipment now available on the i20 hatchback.

What's the news?
The facelifted Hyundai i20 has now arrived on Ireland's shores, offering more equipment, improved engines and a sharper look over the previous model.

Exterior
To bring the i20 more in line with the rest of the Hyundai range, the model has had a makeover. The headlights, front grille and fog lights have all been redesigned to give the car a sharper look at the front; and the styling lines on the side are now more defined. New alloy wheel designs and LED daytime running lights also feature for the refreshed i20.

Interior
Standard equipment for the model now includes an automatically dimming rear view mirror, parking sensors with reversing camera, rain sensing wipers, keyless entry and a multi-function stereo with aux-in, voice-activated Bluetooth and iPod connectivity - all features that were previously unavailable on the i20.

Mechanicals
The latest i20 comes with a 1.1-litre CRDi diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 1.2-litre petrol with a five-speed transmission. Both engines are improved over the previous offering; especially the diesel, which increases fuel economy from 67.3- to 88mpg (4.2- 3.2 litres/100km), and lowers CO2 figures from 110- to 84g/km over the old 1.4-litre unit.

Anything else?
The new i20 is available now with prices starting from €15,495 for the petrol and €16,995 for the diesel model. All versions come with Hyundai's five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
