Mercedes-Benz CSC leaked ahead of Chinese premiere

Mercedes-Benz reveals stunning new Concept Style Coupé, previewing a 'baby CLS'.

Official images of Mercedes-Benz's latest four-door coupé leaked onto the internet ahead of its world premiere at next week's Auto China motor show in Beijing. Called the Concept Style Coupe (CSC), it looks set to preview a baby brother to the popular CLS, based on Mercedes-Benz's new MFA architecture that underpins the forthcoming A-Class and current B-Class.

Confusion surrounding the name of the showroom model that the CSC will spawn still abounds, with CLA and BLS both being mooted, but we do expect to see a production version hit the streets at some point in 2013.  The connection with the new A-Class is obvious with the striking front end being carried over in addition to the 211hp turbocharged four-pot engine and 4Matic all-wheel drive system. A hot AMG version, complete with the 335hp engine from the A 25 AMG, could join the line-up along with more sedate petrol and diesel models.

Frameless windows, pillar-less doors and a panoramic roof all feature in the CSC show car but how much of this makes it to production remains to be seen.
