Fiat Panda prices and specifications announced

Third generation Fiat Panda to start from €11,995.

Fiat Ireland has announced pricing and specification details for the third-generation Panda, which goes on sale here in mid-March. Initially two engines - the 69hp 1.2-litre petrol and 75hp 1.3-litre MultiJet II diesel - will be offered with the 0.9hp TwinAir turbo engine offering 85hp set to arrive later in the year.

Entry level 'Pop' trim will start at €11,995 and includes central locking; electric front windows; electric mirrors; front- and full-length curtain airbags; anti-whiplash headrests; and daytime running lights as standard.

'Easy' specification adds air conditioning; remote locking; front fog lights; roof bars; and an upgraded audio system with prices starting at €12,995 for the 1.2-litre engine. The TwinAir Easy will retail for €14,495 when it hits showrooms, while the range topping 1.3 JTDM Easy is priced at €15,545.

The larger third generation Panda will also be offered in 4X4 Climbing configuration with the all-wheel drive cars scheduled to arrive in autumn.

Options in the Panda range include climate control, parking sensors, an electric Skydome sunroof, Dualogic automated manual transmission, Blue&Me connectivity and a TomTom Live satellite navigation system. Fiat's "Low Speed Collision Mitigation" - a system that automatically brakes if it detects an impending low speed collision - will be rolled out in 2012, making the Panda the first car from Fiat Group Automobile to be offered with such a feature.
