Bugatti Veyron breaks land speed record for a production car

1,200hp Super Sport version averages 431km/h.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has achieved a new landspeed world record for production cars on the proving grounds of the Volkswagen Group at Ehra-Lessien in Germany. 

In front of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of the Guinness Book of Records, the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431km/h driven by test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel.
