Dacia Jogger arrives in Ireland

The Dacia Jogger, Ireland’s cheapest seven-seater with prices starting from €23,290, has gone on sale.

The Dacia Jogger has gone on sale in Ireland with prices starting from €23,290. With a deposit of €99 and PCP financing from the equivalent of €7 per day (€212 per month), the MPV is now Ireland's cheapest seven-seater.

All models, for the moment, are powered by a 110hp 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine though there's a hybrid model coming down the line next year featuring the same 1.6-litre petrol engine and dual-motor powertrain as seen in the Renault Captur. All models, even base Essential spec, are equipped with air-conditioning, rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Trim levels

That Essential model opens the range without an infotainment touchscreen, allowing drivers to simply clamp their mobile phone to the dashboard, pairing with the car's systems through the Dacia Media Control interface.

Moving up the line, at €25,090 Comfort models are that little bit plusher and come with modular roof rails, body-colour door handles, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, automatic wipers, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera and 16-inch steel wheels. Inside, there's keyless entry, automatic air conditioning, blind-spot warning and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring.

The top-of-the-range Extreme SE model, starting from €26,590 gets all of the above plus black alloy wheels (16-inch), beefier, more off-road styling cues (the Jogger does have 200mm of ground clearance) and black door mirrors. The interior is a touch more luxurious too with heated front seats and the Dacia Media Nav system which includes built-in navigation and wireless smartphone mirroring.

Space galore

Overall, the Jogger's cabin is massively spacious. The rearmost seats can be tumbled forward or removed entirely, and with them removed and the middle row folded down, there's a cavernous 2,085 litres of space and a two-metre-long flat floor. Even with the rearmost seats in the upright position, there's still a reasonably useful 212 litres of storage. Additionally, the cabin also contains another 23 litres of storage space in the way of door bins, the large glovebox and the central armrest unit. The roof rails can pivot, fold and lock into a roof rack formation to accommodate loads of up to 80kg meaning that, with all the other storage space taken into consideration, the Jogger is very much designed with active families with tons of luggage in mind.

Dacia dealerships will be running a Jogger event from Thursday, April 7 to Saturday, April 9 where potentially interested customers will be able to take a closer look at the Jogger and book a test drive.
