Volkswagen Ireland free charging points for businesses

Companies can enter a competition to win an EV charger.

Volkswagen Ireland is offering Irish companies the chance to win an electric car charging point for their offices. Five charging points, plus installation, are up for grabs in a competition running between now and the end of August.

Climate awareness never more relevant

"Climate awareness has never been as relevant as it is today. More and more consumers are looking to businesses to lead the way towards a zero-carbon future and are choosing businesses that actively support climate-friendly approaches. At Volkswagen, we're leading the way to a cleaner, greener future with our all-electric ID. Models, which are created net carbon neutral, and the overhaul of our entire operations - our Way to Zero strategy," said Volkswagen Marketing Communications Manager Niamh Gaffney. "This new competition aims to help small business owners to get 'electrified' with a charging point installed by Volkswagen, allowing them to facilitate the charging of electric or PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicles) at their premises for staff or customers."

What EV charging means to you and your customers

So, how can you win one for your workspace? Simple - just head over to www.volkswagen.ie/electrify, and write your best 'what I did on my electric car holidays' essay, of no more than 300 words, and you're in with a chance. What you need to make sure you include is a little bit about your business and why a vehicle charging point would make a difference to you and to your customers. One winner will be selected each month, and the competition is open to small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) only.

ID.4 marches up the best-sellers list

It's been a busy electric week for Volkswagen Ireland, actually, as the ID.4 electric SUV has gone straight to the top of the best-selling electric cars list in March, finishing second behind only the Nissan Leaf. "Supplies of the ID.3 and ID.4 for Ireland this year are healthy, so we are confident of meeting customer demand for these models, especially since we will see the introduction of the full range of ID.4 models arriving in Volkswagen showrooms in the coming weeks," said Volkswagen Ireland Brand Director Rodolfo Calixto. Customers can now order from the full suite of ID.4 regular series models, with prices starting from €34,436."
