Zagato Aston tackles the 'Ring

Aston Martin V12 Zagato ready to race this weekend.

A pair of Aston Martin V12 Zagatos will take to the Nürburgring this weekend.  The cars will compete in the 51st ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen VLN5 four-hour race on Sunday (June 12).

Participating in the event represents the final preparation before the Nürburgring 24-hour race later this month.  The team will check the race setup and allow the drivers some familiarisation time.

Leading the driver team is Aston Martin chief executive Dr Ulrich Bez who will be joined in the first car by Wolfgang Schubauer, director of the company's Nürburgring Test Centre, and amateur racer Peter Cate.  The second car will be driven by One-77 Chief Engineer Chris Porrit, sports car driver Oliver Mathai and motoring journalist Richard Meaden.

The race starts at 1pm, BST (noon, Central European Time) on Sunday 12 June.  Live updates as the race progresses can be received on the company's official twitter channel by following @astonmartin.
