Toyota Ireland has announced promotions and discounts to try and tempt buyers back into showrooms for the 202 numberplate in July.
Optimism rising?
As the company says: "After a very challenging two months for both our citizens and the economy, the first signs of optimism are starting to appear" and Toyota wants to give that optimism a hefty shove with some discounts.
The biggest one is a financial contribution of up to €3,000. Those looking for a Corolla get €1,500 off, while if you want a RAV4 or a Camry it's €2,000. A Yaris comes with a €2,500 contribution, while the Prius and C-HR get the full €3,000 discount.
PCP with finance contribution
That comes packaged with a PCP finance agreement with a 3.9 per cent APR. For those buyers who don't want to buy on finance, there's a €3,000 trade-in booster instead. All models come with three years' servicing inclusive.
Toyota is reminding buyers that its dealerships are now open again, and are all kitted out for social distancing and increased hygiene measures. There's also a 'virtual showroom' on the Toyota website that allows you to move your browsing and shopping online, only needing to physically visit the dealership when you're ready to buy.
Increased hybrid sales
Toyota is benefiting from an increasing desire among Irish motorists to switch to hybrid power. In the truncated 2020 market, the Corolla is still the best-selling model in the country. 87 per cent of Toyota's total Irish sales are now hybrid models, and the company estimates that its hybrids sold in 2019 will save over 60,000 tonnes of CO2 in their lifetime.
