Ahead of its US on-sale date of autumn (or should we say 'fall'?), BMW has created a special, one-off i8 that it will auction at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance event in August.
The i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition is marked out by a unique paint job and interior treatment, with the outside finished in BMW Individual Frozen Grey, while the inside is marked out by liberal use of BMW i blue highlights - notably in the contrast stitching in the Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery, on the seatbelts and on other sundry bits of trim. In the headrests, you'll see BMW has stitched the 'i8' branding and the hybrid should have laser headlights - pending US governmental approval. If necessary, BMW is going to retro-fit these post-sale. It'll also come with a BMW i8 Display key, which features an integrated LCD touchscreen, and the first BMW Charging Station, professional edition.

The BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition will be sold by Gooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, during the annual Pebble Beach Auctions on Saturday, August 16. Proceeds of the sale will go to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
