Chassis revisions due for Toyota GT86

Better handling and a smoother ride promised for Toyota GT86.

Suspension revisions to sharpen up the already-excellent GT86 are being announced in Australia - and the good news is, we're going to get these updates here very soon.

Tetsuya Tada, the 86's global chief engineer, has apparently managed to achieve a set-up on the rear-drive coupé that balances a better ride with more entertaining handling, if such a thing was possible. Sadly, no news on an official supercharged model as yet to address its relative torque deficit...

New suspension mounts are fitted and the dampers have been revised with lower-friction oil, oil seals and guide bushings to control initial body movements when being driven hard.

Anything else?
Although we have no more specifics at the moment, a Toyota spokesman in this corner of the world would at least say these chassis modifications will be coming to our market later this year.
