Five-door Skoda Citigo arrives in September

Skoda reveals its new five-door Citigo.

Skoda has confirmed that it will produce a five-door version of its Citigo city car with the official unveiling set to take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The five-door model is set to go on sale in Ireland in September alongside the three-door Citigo (which hits the market in July).

Like the three-door car the more practical Citigo will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with power outputs of 60- or 75hp. In its most efficient Green tec form, the new Citigo returns 68.9mpg (4.1 litres/100km) with CO2 emissions of 96g/km meaning it will be in tax Band A with annual road tax of €160.

Prices for the Skoda Citigo are yet to be announced.

Following on from the recent announcement concerning the five-door VW up! we await news of its Spanish cousin, the SEAT Mii, to complete the hat-trick.
