The Eagle Spyder GT is a modified, restored Jaguar E-type with up-to-date performance.

What's the news?

Eagle has launched the new Eagle Spyder GT, which joins the Eagle Speedster and Eagle Low Drag GT. The cars are all bespoke creations that begin with an original Jaguar E-type in need of restoration. The Spyder GT is based on the Speedster but with improved weather protection.

The body is an aluminium monocoque that features deeper sills, a lower floor pan and wider wheel arches to accommodate custom 16-inch wheels and tyres. A full-height windscreen and fabric roof allow the Spyder GT to be enjoyed even when the weather turns bad.

On the inside there is leather upholstery and a sweeping, curved centre console with hidden handbrake lever.

Under the long bonnet Jaguar's XK six-cylinder engine is enlarged to 4.7-litres and features a big-valve cylinder head to produce a claimed 330hp and 46Nm of torque. Eagle claims 0-60mph in under 5.0 seconds and a top speed of over 273km/h (170mph).

Henry Pearman, Managing Director at Eagle said: "We're really proud of what's been achieved with our E-Type Special Editions, and the worldwide reaction has made all the years of effort and dedication completely worthwhile.

The Spyder GT represents the very best of what we do here at Eagle and we're thrilled to present it to the world."
