To celebrate going on sale in India a Nissan GT-R outlines the world's largest map of India.

What's the news?

A Nissan GT-R has drawn the largest ever outline of the map of India, to celebrate both the car going on sale in the country and the 68th year of the Republic (January 26 being India's Republic Day national holiday).

The GT-R, in the hands of rally driver Rahul Kanthraj, drew out the shape of India in the dry surface of Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan.

The resulting Nissan-scrawled map spanned three square kilometres, the graphic measuring 3km long, 2.8km wide and with an outline periphery measuring 14.7km, and is the largest map of any country's outline ever drawn.

The map was created by plotting the co-ordinates into a GPS device and numerous laps were done in order to approximate India's shape, so that it would be visible to camera drones above once finished.

Furthermore, successful completion of the stunt meant the GT-R enter the Limca Book of Records - the Indian version of the Guinness Book of Records - for the 2018 edition, due to be published in June next year.
