Another glimpse of Opel's new coupe

Opel GT will be unveiled in full at Geneva Motor Show.

What's the news?

Another week, another peek at the Opel GT Coupe concept. Last week it was a faint image of an alloy wheel and, possibly, a hint of a brake light outline.

This week it's exhaust pipes. Do you think this is a cereal-free-gift-like ploy by Opel? You know, one free in every pack of Frosties, collect the set and they make up one proper image of an Opel GT concept? Perhaps not.

There's also a glimpse (in the video) of red tyres, a throwback to an Opel motorcycle of 1928 while the whole GT idea is a reference to the original Opel GT coupe of the sixties. CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann says that "Opel has reinvented itself.  Don't miss what happens next."

We'll find out more on the 3rd of March at the Geneva Motor Show, but it remains to be seen how serious Opel is about making a range-topping coupe. Sports car sales are sluggish at best and everyone wants SUVs so it's not looking good, all publicity aside, for the GT's chances of ever making it off a motor show stage.
