Nissan is offering customers up to €6,500 extra on trade-ins for cars on the forthcoming ‘242’ registration.

Nissan has confirmed it will offer customers up to €6,500 extra on their car’s trade-in value if they buy a new ‘242’-plate car. The offer, which ends on June 30, operates on a sliding scale, with customers receiving different bonus trade-in prices depending on which new Nissan they buy.

Family favourites

The deal represents a heavy discount for customers, but the size of that contribution will depend on which Nissan model you choose. Several key Nissan models, which have been very popular with customers, are eligible for the offer, but all come with some form of hybrid or electric power.

Perhaps the greatest bargain is to be had on new Leaf models, which are already subject to a €3,500 government grant. But Nissan will offer customers who trade in an existing car a further €6,500 “trade-in booster”, effectively bringing the electric hatchback’s starting price down to €21,995.

But the Leaf is far from the only model being incentivised in this way, with customers who order a 242-plate Juke Hybrid receiving an extra €2,000 for the vehicle they trade-in. Similarly, those who buy a Qashqai e-Power will receive an extra €2,500 for the vehicle they trade in, and customers who pick the larger X-Trail e-Power will get a €3,000 trade-in booster.

The all-electric Ariya SUV also benefits from the offer, with a trade-in value upgrade of €2,000 available for anyone buying a 242-plate example.

Moving quickly

Nissan has confirmed the offer will run until 30 June 2024. Customers who want to take advantage of the deal are encouraged to contact their dealer or visit the Nissan website.

“The good news for motorists this summer is that their trade-in is worth a whole lot more at their local Nissan dealership,” said Neil O’Sullivan, the sales director at Nissan Ireland. “We will boost the trade-in value of your car by at least €2,000 and by as much as €6,500 depending on the new Nissan that you want to buy.”

“Our trade-in boosters are a massive bonus for anyone who wants to trade-in their old car and to step into hybrid, hybrid e-POWER or fully electric driving with a new 242 Nissan. The offer delivers huge savings for new car buyers and it is available to new and existing customers across the full range of Nissan cars up to June 30.”
