Hi, I am about to buy my first car and I have my eye on a Mazda RX-8 that my neighbour is selling, but I'm not sure if I should make an offer because I hear insurance is going to be an issue and I'm not sure if they're suitable for learner drivers.

Should I trade in my Peugeot 206 now or wait?
I have a 2003 Peugeot 206 that needs the guts of a €1,000 worth of work to keep it going and have €12k-14k put aside for an upgrade. The only thing stopping me trading in the Peugeot against a newer car is the fact my wife is learning to drive. Would I be better off putting the money into the 206, wait 6-9 months while my wife learns to drive as I'm worried she could damage the newer car?

For €5,000, what car would suit my wife, just learning to drive?
I want to buy the missus a car. She is just learning to drive and she'll need to ferry our one-year-old around too. I don't want to spend too much, about €5,000 maximum, no real preference for make or model, but I want something safe, easy to drive, with good visibility. Low tax a bonus. Any ideas?

Hi, as a learner driver, which is the best of these? 2008 Hyundai i30 Classic 1.4 (99,000 kilometres) or 2008 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (32,000 kilometres)? Asking price is €8,000 for both.

Which of these would be a good starter car?
Hi, my girlfriend who is 22 has recently got her first provisional licence and completed her mandatory 12 lessons. Any advice on a good starter car for her, for under €1,000 if possible? Taking into account tax and insurance costs I've been looking at Cinquecentos, Micras, Polos and the Daewoo Lanos as they're 1.0-litre or under. Any of these worth considering, orany that should definitely be avoided?
