What's causing the whining noise in my Landcruiser?

I recently purchased a 3.0-litre Toyota Landcruiser in Northern Ireland and have noticed some rust in the chassis and exhaust, but more worrying is a whining noise it has developed in first, second and third gears at around 2,000rpm - the noise dissipates at about 2,300rpm. Have you any idea what the problem could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you help with the roof on my Peugeot 306 CC?

Hi, I have a '98 Peugeot 306 CC with a folding electric roof. I'm having a problem when closing the roof. It opens perfectly but when it's closing the back window won't open to let the boot part down: i.e. it isn't completing the closing sequence. Could this be an electrical problem? Can you help?

My Honda's head gasket has gone twice in nine months!

I got the head gasket done on my 02 Honda Civic 1.4 last September (2010) due to burst radiator. Now it's gone again after nine months. Would this indicate it was not fixed properly or just bad luck?

Regards, Tom

Hi,

I have a 2004 1.6-litre Skoda Octavia. At idle the car chugs as if it is about to cut out and sometimes acceleration fluctuates. What do you think it is?

Thank you

Opel Astra CD/battery problem

Hi guys.

Do you know anything about a "known" problem with 2005 model Opel Astras whereby the motor in the console mounted CD player stays on when the ignition is off and eventually drains the battery? I know two family members suffering the same problem. Do you know if there is anything that can be done to fix it?

The only option Opel gave is to replace the whole console, but the problem will eventually happen again. Both cars are out of warranty so Opel dealers don't want to know and have only offered to replace the console at huge cost. Any ideas lads?

Love the site by the way.

Tom
