We've been waiting a decade for this but it looks like it is (finally) here - the production version of the next Honda NSX will be revealed for the first time at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
As it debuts in the USA, it will be called the Acura NSX, but it will be our first look at the replacement for a legendary Honda that went out of production in 2005. In the meantime, we've been teased with the HSC (originally seen in 2003 and slated as an NSX successor, it came to naught), the HSV-010 and various other rumours and half-truths about an NSX coming to market, without anything actually happening. Honda is trying to claim it has only been developing this car properly since the 2012 concept was shown in Detroit, but we've been chomping at the bit on this one since... well, since 2005, really.
So far, details remain scarce, but it is said to have a triple-motor, twin-turbocharged 'Sport Hybrid' powertrain, which means it has a forced induction petrol unit supplemented by an electric motor on each axle, equipping it with all-wheel drive - nothing like the preceding car, then, which used a mid-mounted, normally-aspirated V6 engine with rear-wheel drive. And no electric motors. Obviously.
The NSX will be built in Ohio and the development is being led by an American team, with chief engineer Ted Klaus saying: "After three years of intensive development work we are excited to reveal this next-generation supercar - the Acura NSX - to the world. We've developed a human-centred supercar that responds to the will of the driver and that builds upon the NSX heritage."

If you can stand the wait (and, after nearly ten years, who's counting another month?), the NSX will be unveiled on January 12.
