New cars for Forza Motorsport 5

Formula E racer and Rolls-Royce Wraith added to Forza line-up.

If you play Forza Motorsport 5 you can now sample the Spark-Renault SRT_01E Formula E racing car as a free download. The tie-up with Forza is part of a plan to increase fan engagement with the electric racing formula through social media. It is said to be the first time a fully electric single-seater has been featured as a playable car on a home entertainment system.

Available on the Xbox Live marketplace the Formula E car can be driven on 'some of the world's best known circuits'. Gamers can even try out the car on the Long Beach street circuit, which will host the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship race on 4 April 2015.

Formula E Sales & Marketing Director, Jaume Sallares, said; "It's fantastic that gaming fans will be able to drive our Formula E car and experience electric racing for the first time in their own homes. The partnership with the Forza Motorsport series ties in perfectly with our desire to increase interaction with our fans through social media, offering new ways to experience motorsport by making it accessible to the general public and the chance to play a part of the racing through FanBoost."

FanBoost is an interactive feature of the race series that allows race fans to vote for the driver to receive a burst of extra speed during the race.

Anything else?
Another free download for Forza Motorsport 5 was also announced this week: the Rolls-Royce Wraith. The game's developers have apparently worked hard to reproduce the various materials that go into the Wraith. Twelve colour combinations, including two-tone schemes, are available and even the interior has been reproduced and is described as 'looking real enough to touch'.
