Lexus LS 500h hybrid to debut at Geneva

New hybrid Lexus LS 500h will use LC's V6 engine and debuts at the Geneva show.

What's the news?

Following on from its petrol-only showing at the Detroit Motor Show, Lexus has confirmed that it will display a hybrid LS 500h at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The flagship Lexus saloon will borrow the 3.5-litre V6 plus batteries and electric motor drive from the gorgeous LC 500h coupe. It'll have the same 360hp total power output, and its Co2 emissions should be similar to the LC's 149g/km figure, which would give it exceptionally low Band C motor tax for a car this big.

Lexus says that the car "features a strikingly bold design with a coupe-like silhouette that rides on a new platform delivering unprecedented agility and comfort" but offers no specific details beyond that point.

The 5.2-metre long LS hybrid will look no different on the outside to the LS 500 V8 petrol, aside from some subtle hybrid badges. We'll have more details from the floor of the Geneva Motor Show.
