What's the news?
We've got a special version of each of the two, um, economical variants of the Porsche Cayenne. The Cayenne Diesel and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition SUVs are on sale in Porsche Ireland centres now.
Exterior
The Platinum Edition Cayennes have wider wheel arches than the regular SUVs, which house 20-inch RS Spyder design alloy wheels. Non-metallic black and white paint finishes are standard options, although Deep Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White and Rhodium Silver metallic hues are all offered as options. There's a high-gloss exterior package for the body trim and window surrounds, the rear glass is tinted, and all mirrors on the car feature automatic dimming functionality. Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (with targeted beam patterns when cornering) is thrown in for good measure.
Interior
Step across the stainless steel door sills with 'Platinum Edition' logos - these are illuminated in the S E-Hybrid version - and the special Cayennes have leather sports seats with eight-way electric adjustment and heating for the front pews, Alcantara trim, the Porsche crest embossed on the head restraints, and the addition of a Bose Surround Sound system with 14 speakers and a 665-watt total output.
Additional goodies in the Platinum Edition include front and rear park assist, the latest generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with the Connect Plus module offering expanded mobile connectivity, and for the hybrid model there's a stationary heating/air conditioning system, which allows the car to be heated or cooled with the ignition off.
Mechanicals
No changes here, so 262hp, 6.6 litres/100km (42.8mpg) and 173g/km CO2 for the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition, and 416hp, 3.3 litres/100km (85.6mpg) and 75g/km CO2 for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition.

The Cayenne Platinum Edition models are available to order now from Porsche Centres in Ireland, with first deliveries beginning in June.
